| Tomorrow is going to be one for the record books. Got seatbelt? The futures are down 70 handles right now - that's about 700 DOW points, and they're flirting with "lock limit" (no more trading until 8:30 CT if that happens) I "loaded the boat" with a measured amount of PUTs Friday afternoon. Not willing to go "all in".... tempting, but no. Barring something outrageous before the market opens those are winning lotto tickets in the AM.

I don't understand any of that but I can tell you that my 401K is not doing very well....

| Futures (S&P, Nasdaq and Russell) just went lock-limit down. No more trading until the NYSE opens. The last time they did this was during the 2000 tech explosion. It is going to be nasty tomorrow. Europe is about to open up down 5+% across the board, and most of the Far East is down 6-12% overnight. I'm off for some sleep; I'm going to need my wits about me. I've been trying to warn people.......

curtpcol (1/22/2008) Deeplines -----( Refinancing ) Might just want to wait could have a another rate decrease very soon. Just a thoughtIf it drops another .5 points or so, I'll be refinancing. Thanks guys, I heard that after posting that. Was headed to get my morning coffee and saw I had a flat on the truck. Went to the Navy Federal Credit Union homepage and I think it will cost me $963 to Refinance the amount I want. Guess I will just call them and start the ground work. Dang truck is leaking oil and water. Yesterday the battery was dead and today a flat. I think the ol girl is trying to tell me something. 210,000 miles I think she is getting ready for the scrape yard. Hope the economy doesn't fall. I have to drop another big bundle today picking my my other motor , buy a tire, change oil, still have to by rigging for the boat and a new truck purchases HAS to be around the corner. Heck, I'm spending more then I'm making. Guess you could say I'm doing my job by pumping money into the economy. LOL........

All of this crap is why I dont invest. I do something much better for the economy. I spend all of my money. Usually on fishing. If the ecomomy does crash, I'm in good shape. I just have dump this boat. Then I have no dept but my house. Fixed rate at 4.75%.

| Up 10%+- for 12 months, down quite a few $K for the last month. You just have to wait out the out going low tide and eventually an incoming high tide will return. You ain't lost it unless you sell it, its all just numbers on paper until you cash it out.

You just have to wait out the out going low tide and eventually an incoming high tide will return. You ain't lost it unless you sell it, its all just numbers on paper until you cash it out. Something to think about on that... If your position goes down by 50%, you then need a DOUBLE to get back to even. We have Fed Intervention and the Dow still loses 120? Apple crapped the bed after the close on earnings and the NDX futures are now down 36 handles, or more than 2% - since the close - on top of the 2.6% they lost today. The SPX futures are down another 1.4% at present, trading at 1293; the SPX closed at 1310 (there's about 4 pts of premium in the futures, so if we opened here the SPX cash would open at roughly 1286. At what point is your "max pain" reached? This is the second inning or so of a 9-inning game in the credit uwinding. You can take that to the bank. First it was subprime; this year it will be prime loans, autos and credit cards. A year from now it will be commercial R/E. I had an intermediate-term target (midyear) of 1220 on the SPX at the end of the year. If you told me we might see it in JANUARY I would have asked where you got the drugs you were smoking. This no longer looks like an unreasonable expectation. Good luck folks..... and be careful when the inevitable snapback rally comes (which could be as early as later this week) - when that happens, its not over. In fact, if you're trapped in long positions, its an excellent opportunity to do something about it before the NEXT leg down starts.

| I'm with Karl on this one . I think it is going to be a Rocky road but just have to Bear the market . The last crash it took me almost 4 years for me to get back to be even . It just seems you don't make it as fast as you lose it. What's up with that ??????? Market should be up today as all the European & Asian markets were up yesterday. I would say for those of you that are in it for the long haul just stay with it and don't panic. Now is the time to buy not to sit back in Bonds and make nothing .
