My wife and I have decided to cancel our plans to go over to Delacroix this weekend. We think the fishing is going to be great but do not want to get caught in a mandatory evacuation of New Orleans. We will stay and fish Perdido Bay Sat or Sun maybe both.
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - BEER in one hand - Fishing Pole in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, "WOO HOO, What a Ride!"

probably a good choice. i was on a boat over in Dulac, LA when Ivan was in the gulf. they wernt sure if it was going to hit here or there yet. i decided to come home to get everything ready here and about the time i was getting off the boat they called for an evac of NO. that was CRAZY!!! i left the office in Harvey, LA at 5 pm and didnt get home till 5:30 AM...usually a 3 hour drive at the most. took over 10 hours just to get from the office to Slidel!!! once i made the turn back east on I10 i bet i didnt pass 10 cars from there to mobile.
